Lubusz puppet scene in Zielona Góra

Already today, the title character of Jan Brzechwa's book, loved by successive generations of the youngest viewers, has returned to our stage.

"The Academy of Mr. Kleks", directed by Jerzy Jan Połoński, had its premiere on October 7, 2017. The bearded wizard was played then by Aleksander Podolak, now by Marek Sitarski. It is worth remembering that the first actor to play the role of the bearded wizard, adored by successive generations of the youngest viewers, was Ludwik Schiller, who appeared in "The Extraordinary Adventures of Mr.

At that time, Schiller - born in Trzcianka, a graduate of the Wrocław theater school - had been associated with the Zielona Góra scene for almost 20 years. As we read in "Gazeta Zachodnia", the actor "never thought that he would follow in the footsteps of the children's favorite Piotr Fronczewski". Meanwhile, “the children immediately accepted and liked the new Kleks very much. – The performance lasts 100 minutes, but no child has left before the end. My parents seem to be having a good time as well,” he said. "Before the premiere performance last Sunday, many children left empty-handed at the box office, which ran out of tickets," reported Danuta Piekarska in "Gazeta Lubuska". – This bodes for Zielona Góra's "Kleks" [...] a long life." The reviewer, despite some reservations, did not spare warm words for this performance:

The show starts very dynamically. The youngest audience filling the auditorium of the large hall of the Lubuski Theater can barely keep up with what is happening. Not only on stage. The actors – the performance first takes place in a live setting – run among the spectators, disappearing or emerging from behind the door. The eyes are drawn to the fabulously colorful Ambrose Kleks (a dream role for Ludwik Schiller) and the equally unrealistic, though available at arm's length, hairdresser Filip (Jan Wysocki), bustling around with a huge comb. Thus, a great chase after Alojzy Bąbel begins at lightning speed (Marek Szczęsny is hiding under his red hair), who, without waiting for his creator to pour oil P plus P (i.e. obedience and kindness) rushes to escape.

The continuation of Jan Brzechwa's "The Extraordinary Adventures of Mr. Kleks" is shown in a puppet set. Puppets of fantastic beauty (puppets, costumes and decorations designed by Jerzy Michalak were made in the workshop of the Miniatura Theater in Gdańsk) chase Alojzy Babel and adventure, traversing fantastic lands.

[…] the performance has many advantages. From the jazzy music of Stefan Kisielewski (arranged by Jan Walczyński) and catchy beautiful songs to a truly fabulous visual setting. A recurring song is about "you have to love all people," even "when they're ginger." The message of tolerance is very beautiful. […]
