So begins the story of The Princess and the Pea. about the princess? Okay… There are a lot of fairy tales about princesses, but what about those peas? Pea soup is made from peas, a very tasty soup? Princess? Soup?! Maybe a queen, because in this fairy tale there is also a queen...
No, no… It's not that at all. The queen herself spread twenty hair mattresses and twenty feather eiderdowns on the bed ... What - what for?

The fairy tales of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen were published from 1835 to 1872; most of them are based on the writer's own ideas, while others are taken from folk literature, Scandinavian legends and sagas. His most famous fairy tales include: "The Ugly Duckling", "The Little Match Girl", "The Princess and the Pea", "The Snow Queen", "The Mermaid", "The Nightingale", "Galoshes of Luck" and others.
Fairy tales have been translated into many languages. They brought the author worldwide success and countless admirers among children and adults.
