Representatives of the local media, who came to today's press conference, became witnesses of a historic moment. The agreement on artistic cooperation concluded between the Piccolo Theater Cottbus and the Lubuski Theater in Zielona Góra became a fact, and the directors of both institutions - Reinhard Drogla and Robert Czechowski - sealed it with a warm handshake.

The Piccolo Theater can boast over thirty years of experience in producing performances for children and youth, as well as extensive educational and workshop activities, and also gives young audiences the opportunity to actively participate in its artistic endeavors. The Lubuski Theater has also been creating performances for younger and youngest audiences for years, but the Puppet Theater Stage built especially for this purpose is "just in its infancy", to use Robert Czechowski's words - but it is already clear that it has huge potential. Visiting the recently constructed building, the director of the Piccolo Theater said that "it would be a sin if you didn't take advantage of our experience - it will be a great opportunity to learn a lot from each other." The host of the Lubuskie Theater emphasized that he "will always uphold European values, such as tolerance, openness and friendship between nations", and cooperation in the field of theater certainly serves to strengthen these ties.

The audience of the Zielona Góra theater will see the first effect of joint activities in November. Before this happens, our actors will visit Cottbus to get acquainted with the work of the local team on a performance without words, addressed to "the most popular" and entitled "Wind, Wind". Then, the director of the show will come to Zielona Góra to direct the Polish version of her work on the stage of the Puppet Theater - with the participation of our performers and with the scenography, costumes and music prepared by us.

The originators of establishing contacts between our theaters and nations are: Barbara Krzeszewska-Zmyślony from the Center for German Culture and Language UZ and Czesław Fiedorowicz. Mrs. Barbara recalled the words of Robert Schuman, who said that "if he started building the European Union again, he would start with culture - culture with a capital K." There is no doubt that the cooperation of the Lubuski Theater with the Piccolo Theater will contribute to the implementation of this noble vision in practice.
