Halina Lubicz is a true legend of Lubuskie Theatre. One of the most important performances in her direction was "The Mystery of the Old Willow" by Igor Sikirycki and Roman Sykała,
presented on the stage of the drama. "I personally attended the premiere of the show in Zielona Góra and I have to admit that I don't regret it at all," said the reviewer of "Nadodrza", signing with the initials AMI:
[…] An uncomplicated play about a poor shepherd boy who, thanks to his nobility and the help of a good fairy, becomes a king himself, was told on stage with great literary charm, and thanks to the characters introduced in accordance with the convention of this type of works, also with charming and lighthearted humour.
The whole thing was directed by Halina Lubicz, well-known to all of us, who conducted the performance efficiently and cleanly, with a great knowledge of the psyche of the young viewer, as a result showing a fairy tale told with verve in the language of comedy, which can also be recommended to older youth. The trick also received a not just any cast, it features almost the entire first actor's suit of the adult scene, assisted by several people from the puppetry team. I admit that it surprises a visitor of evening premieres a bit, but later one gets used to it and is surprised that he did not know his favorites from this side of acting possibilities. For this reason, I do not want to judge the acting of this very charming spectacle, because the whole was primarily an example of spontaneous and spontaneous fun covering both sides of the ramp. The best judges here turned out to be the audience itself. As one of the viewers, I do not intend to break out at all. […]
The performance, judging by the attendance so far, proves that the Theater should not forget about such stagings. In the situation in Zielona Góra, however, I would prefer that repertoire items of this type come out under the name of Cudaczek, intended for children. I remember that in the past it was even like that (probably even with another play by the same authors ["Bear in Golden Chains" from 1963, directed by Bohdan Czechak in collaboration with Halina Lubicz]), the result was identical, and additional satisfaction.
